In the first stage of her career Fiona worked in sales and publishing. During this period she successfully promoted career pathways for young people, partnering with organisations such as the NHS, Orange and ACCA. She also helped universities to develop marketing campaigns. As a result, Fiona gained accolades at Hobsons, notably as one of her employer’s top sales performers.

When Fiona moved into the recruitment industry, she opened a new high street branch for Kelly Services. There she established brand new revenue lines from local employers, involving administrative and clerical roles.

From there she moved first to a larger branch and was then promoted to area manager for London. In that role she managed 14 direct manager reports, with a total regional business value running to tens of millions of pounds.

This role then expanded to include the management of a professional staffing line, Kelly Education, in London. Overall, Fiona achieved year-on-year growth in net profit in a challenging environment where trends elsewhere were heading in the opposite direction.

In the next stage of her career, Fiona worked for Adecco, where she transformed a loss-making staffing brand and prepared it for merger into another soon-to-be acquired professional staffing brand.

Then, in preparation for the 2012 Olympics, Fiona took responsibility for creating and on-boarding the Adecco on-site recruitment team responsible for senior and professional staffing appointments.

She worked with external suppliers to establish the London 2012 external job board and internal applicant tracking system, established an extensive compliance and on-boarding structure for new 2012 hires, helped establish the contract’s KPI dashboard and attended several high profile stakeholder engagement events with other London 2012 sponsors.

In her charitable work for Pilotlight, Fiona has worked on five programmes helping chief executives of charities and social enterprises to build capacity and make more impact.
